Edge presents three new acquisitions from the festival season

Sofia Magnusson

Edge Entertainment proudly presents three new titles from this year's festival season: Un Certain Regard-winner Everytime chosen as Germany's entry for the 99th Academy Awards; Asghar Farhadi's return with star-studded Cannes Competition entry Parallel Tales; and one of the year's most acclaimed debutes Furies after premiering in Venice.

Everytime by Sandra Wollner

1In Germany’s official entry for the 99th Academy Awards, we follow a mother, her daughter, and teenage boy who, after a harrowing family tragedy, set off on a vacation to Tenerife that never happened. Against the backdrop of beautiful sunsets, the past and present merge. Everytime is a striking portrayal of guilt and memories in our digital age.

Everytime is Austrian director Sandra Wollner’s third feature film, a meditative and mature work with outstanding cinematography by Gregory Oke, best known for Aftersun (2019). Everytime had its world premiere in Cannes earlier this year and was named Best Film in the Un Certain Regard section. Since then, the film has screened in Toronto and is headed to both New York and the BFI London Film Festival.

Edge Entertainment is proud to present Everytime in Sweden, Norway and Finland after acquiring the rights from Charades.

Swedish premiere spring 2027.

Parallel Tales by Asghar Farhadi

In this loose adaptation of Kieślowski’s A Short Film About Love, we follow the writer Sylvie, who, in search of inspiration for her new novel, begins to spy on her neighbors across the street. When she hires the young Adam to help her with her daily routine, she has no idea that he will turn both her life and her work upside down.

Oscar-winning Iranian master Asghar Farhadi returns with a star-studded ensemble cast featuring Isabelle Huppert, Vincent Cassel, Virginie Efira, and Catherine Deneuve, who have received widespread praise from international critics, as has Farhadi’s precise direction. Parallel Tales premiered in the official competition at Cannes and was released in French theaters shortly thereafter, where it drew large audiences.

Edge Entertainment is proud to present Parallel Tales in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland after acquiring the rights from Charades.

Swedish premiere spring 2027

Furies by Rami Kodeih

George Clooney serves as executive producer on this heist thriller set against the backdrop of Lebanon’s corruption-fueled banking crisis. In Furies, we follow two sisters who, after the bank freezes their life savings, begin planning a daring heist to get their money back.

Now chosen as Lebanon's entry for the Academy Awards next year Furies is Rami Kodeih’s debut film, a thrilling heist movie that plays with the genre’s expectations and weaves in spot-on social commentary. The film is produced by Rodrigo Teixeira, best known for Paper Tiger, I’m Still Here, and Call Me By Your Name. Furies premiered in Venice this year to a fantastic reception and has continued its festival run at both in Toronto and at the BFI London Film Festival, where it has been compared to films such as Amores Perros, City of God, and Thelma & Louise.

Edge Entertainment has acquired the rights in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland from Le Pacte.
