The Eternal Memory (EN)

THE ETERNAL MEMORY

Augusto and Paula have been together for 25 years. Eight years ago Augusto was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease which turned their lives upside down. As one of Chile's most prominent culture commentators, Augusto is used to create memory archives, having been responsible for the restoration of the collective memory after the systematic erasure during Pinochet's dictatorship. This is the story of a man who have spent his entire life trying to prevent collective amnesia, who is now loosing his own memory.

One of this years most talked about documentaries at the Sundance Film Festival where it won the Grand Jury Prize for best documentary and was sold to MTV Documentary Films for 3MUSD. Directed by Maite Alberdi, Oscar nominated for The Mole Agent, and produced by Pablo Larrain, known for Spencer, Jackie and Neruda, to name a few. It was also screened at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival where it received an audience award for best documentary.
